Thomas Bergeron, director

The Williams College Department of Music presents ensembles from the Brass Chamber Music program led by Thomas Bergeron on Saturday, March 5 at 8:00 p.m. in Chapin Hall on the Williams College campus. This free event is open to the public.

This year’s Brass Bash is a spectrum of brass music from the 14th century to the present day. The program features music for the traditional Swiss Alphorn, played by Christina Knapp ’13, a re-imagined version of Guillaume de Machaut’s Hoquetus David with new material added by Jacob Walls ’11 and Byron Perpetua ’14, the world premiere of Williams senior Rob Silversmith’s setting of O Vos Omnes featuring vocalists Chaz Lee and Doug Ballanco, as well as music by Ludwig van Beethoven, Alberto Ginastera, Benjamin Britten, and Giovanni Gabrielli.

The Brass Ensemble, directed by Thomas Bergeron, performs on and off campus in college and community events.
