Williams Jazzday is a new way to present the college’s active jazz scene. Kris Allen invites you to be there! Fans can look forward to a number of smaller combos and eclectic mix of soloists and guests. The day reaches a finale with the Williams Jazz Orchestra in the evening.
Important reminder: the noon and 1pm shows are in Paresky – STUDENT AUDIENCES invited (sorry public!)
Shows in Chapin Hall, starting at 4pm: ALL INVITED (welcome public!!!)
Director Kris Allen is joined by two special guests, trumpeter Bruce Harris, and pianist Jeb Patton.
Throughout the day student combos hold forth in various locations. This is a schedule to cover the whole of Jazzday:

AFTERNOON
PARESKY is closed to the general public. The 12pm and 1pm concerts are OPEN TO STUDENTS only.
12 pm – Jazz Octet performs in Paresky during lunch hour, coached by Kris Allen: students only
1 pm – Jazz Sextet in Paresky, coached by Kris Allen: students only
CHAPIN HALL is open to the general public. Please wear a mask. Williams ID or vaccination card must be presented at the door to enter. Capacity is capped at 50%.
4 pm – Jazz Quintet in Chapin Hall, coached by Kris Allen
4:45 pm – Jazz Combo, coached by Zaccai Curtis, in Chapin Hall with guest soloist Bruce Harris, trumpet
EVENING
7:30 pm – Jazzday Evening Concert in Chapin Hall
