The Williams College Department of Music presents the Williams Chamber Players in a concert on Friday, March 13, at 8:00 p.m. in Brooks-Rogers Recital Hall on the Williams College campus. This free event is open to the public.
The Williams Chamber Players offer a rich program of chamber music that touches on works of the Baroque, Romantic, and the contemporary. To begin the evening, cellist Ronald Feldman and bassoonist Stephen Walt present Sonata in D Minor, a duet by Joseph Bodin de Boismortier, a contemporary of Bach. Next, violinist Joana Genova is joined by Ah Ling Neu, viola; Nathaniel Parke, cello; and Edwin Lawrence, harpsichord for a performance of J.S. Bach’s Baroque masterpiece Brandenburg Concerto No 5.
Pianist Elizabeth Wright and violinist Joana Genova offer the world premiere performance of the Sonata No. 3 for Violin and Piano by Stephen Dankner. Mr. Dankner is a noted local composer and music critic.
After a brief intermission, the Williams Chamber Players will resume with the Brahms Horn Trio featuring hornist Victor Sungarian, who is joined by pianist Doris Stevenson, and Joana Genova, violin.
