Growing up Cuban and Queer in America
(Don’t tell my mother about my one-woman show.)
Dress your imagination in your best guayabera shirt as first generation Cuban-American performer/writer Diana Yanez (Margaret Cho’s The Sensuous Woman Show, Spanish For Your Nanny, My Puss, Let Me Borrow That Top, The Gay Mafia, and Queer On Their Feet) makes mojitos out of the limones of her life. The mint is fresh, the sugar cane sweet, and the rum packs a punch in these hilarious tales of chaos, love, and evolution in Miami. Diana Yanez, winner of the 1st Annual Drama Queen one-woman show competition, presents her full show—life, café con leche, and all.
