Violin Studio Recital

Students of Joanna Kurkowicz offer a concert of great works for solo violin.
The first great work on the program is a team effort. Ben Mygatt ’20, together with pianist Bob Logan play the first movement Allegro non troppo from Violin Concerto in D Major, op. 77 by Johannes Brahms. Violinist Christopher Chung ’22 then takes the stage to play the second and third movements.
Christian Maloney, ’21 performs Max Bruch’s Scottish Fantasy in E-flat Major, op. 46 followed by his colleague Jeff Pearson ’20, who takes on the Andantino from Sergei Prokofiev’s Violin Concerto No. 1 in D Major, op. 19.
The program is capped by the Allegro from Ludwig van Beethoven’s Violin Sonata No. 5, op. 24 played by Jeongyoon Han ’21, violin and Natalie Newton ’20, piano.
