Join Rabbi Becky Silverstein (he/him), Co-Director of the Trans Halakha Project and faculty at SVARA, for two learning opportunities at the Jewish Religious Center:

  • Rituals and Blessings for Trans Lives. Tuesday, April 16 at 7:30pm. Join us for a conversation about the creation of Tefillat Trans, a new compendium of rituals and blessings by and for trans lives published last year. Our time together will include an overview of the project, conversation about the role of rituals and blessings in our lives, and reading some of the published texts.
  • Trans and Jewish – Lunch & Learn. Wednesday, April 17 at 12:00pm. Come here more of Rabbi Becky’s personal story and thoughts on what it means to be Trans and Jewish today. Vegetarian lunch with gluten-free option will be provided.

Rabbi Becky Silverstein believes in the power of community, Torah, and silliness in transforming the world. He strives to build a Jewish community and world that encourages and allows everyone to live a life that reflects their inherent divinity / dignity. Becky is a member of the faculty at SVARA: A Traditionally Radical Yeshiva, co-director of the Trans Halakha Project, and a Schusterman Fellow.

Sponsored by the Williams College Jewish Association, the Chaplains’ Office, QSU, BtB, and Queer Interfaith.
