An Open Rehearsal and Conversation with Professor Martin Lofsnes, Assistant Professor, Conservatory of Dance/SUNY Purchase College

Martin Løfsnes, born in East Germany and raised in Norway, is a dancer, choreographer, director, and educator. He has taught at the Conservatory of Dance/Purchase College since 2004 as an Assistant Professor, with additional teaching experience at The Martha Graham School, The Ailey School, and KHIO/State College of Dance in Oslo. Following studies at London Contemporary Dance School and the Ailey School, Løfsnes performed as a Principal Dancer with the Martha Graham Dance Company (1993-2006). His performance career includes roles with Matthew Bourne’s Broadway production of Swan Lake, Metropolitan Opera Ballet, Dankmeyer Dance Company, and various other companies. In 2007, he founded 360°. Dance Company to present both classic modern works and contemporary commissions. He also serves as custodian of Jane Dudley’s “Time is Money” and is a certified GYROTONIC© trainer teaching in NYC.
