The Phase Transition for Percolation in Two Dimensions by Sameer Jain ’23, Mathematics Colloquium, Monday, February 27, 1 – 1:45 pm, North Science Building 113, Wachenheim.
Abstract: We study percolation on the two-dimensional lattice graph. In some cases, an infinite cluster exists with probability 1, while in other situations, the probability of such an event is 0. We prove the existence of a critical percolation parameter pc, at which this phase transition occurs.
