A Devised Ethnographic Performance Piece by Gabrielle DiBenedetto and Sarah Pier
“Stuck Upstairs” is an investigation of the first-person experience of depression through an ethnographic and theatrical lens. This performance is a culmination of a collaborative Honors project which began with interviews with young adults who have struggled with depression. Their words were then used to inspire and create a theatrical experience that shares their stories and opens a dialogue about the many aspects of mental illness in our community and world.
Ticket sales will be donated Beacon Tree, a program that helps families in need fund mental health screenings and treatment for their children, and provides scholarships for high school students who have overcome significant personal challenges.
