The most iconic Galileo manuscript in America has been in the University of Michigan’s Special Collections for nearly a century. It depicts the telescopic discovery of the moons of Jupiter, a revolutionary moment in the history of astronomy and consciousness. New analyses show that the manuscript is in fact a fake. Join professor Nick Wilding in Bronfman Auditorium at 7:30pm on Wednesday as he takes you through the process of deauthenticating a forged icon.
