In close to eighty years of Statehood, the Jews of Israel developed a Jewish culture unlike any other in the Jewish past, and unlike any other in the Jewish present. Based on a massive volume of data and a years-long research project, a new picture of Israeli Jewishness emerges – a portrait of a culture without which there is no understanding of real Israel.

In this lecture, Tel Aviv-based researcher, columnist, and editor, and author of #IsraeliJudaism Shmuel Rosner will explore Israeli Jewish society: a culture that reinvents Judaism, that mixes tradition and nationality, is haunted by external war and internal division, and is in conflict over competing visions of what it could be.
