The Williams College Department of Dance is proud to present INISH’s spring concert In Anim An Ghrá. INISH, an Irish dance, music, and storytelling ensemble, will explore the passion of the Irish people. Many historical, mythical or legendary events have been attributed to the Irish’s love of their country, causes, people, arts and even their grub and grog. INISH, directed by Holly Silva, invites you to participate in their expression of love though dance and live music.
The word “inish” means both “island” and “to tell” in the Gaelic language. Irish Dance is a reflection of its peoples, both native and migrants. Dance and music is a form of communication across cultures. INISH’s mission is to embrace the challenge of creating new work that melds traditional Irish and contemporary dance. INISH members include students and community residents, chosen by audition or invitation. The company performs works by students, faculty and guest artists.
