An immersive social sculpture by artist Natalie Falero explores the relationships between mental health and sanctuary.

Artist Natalie Falero presents her site-specific installation, Nido de apoyo/ Support Nest, an interactive multi-part work on the WCMA Patio. The artist will perform in the space from 6:30-7:30.
To be tenderly cared for, to be listened and loved genuinely, are just basic needs of humans. Each day, we pass over and through an incredible number of life events, constant movements that somehow transform the way we perceive ourselves, how we appreciate our surroundings, and how we interact with one and other. These changes are not always welcome; we might feel exhausted by lessons that—in the moment—seem trivial or devastating, and that were not asked for. The process of healing is as fragile as it is cyclic: very easy to name, very difficult to perform. Healing takes time, acceptance, struggle, tears, love.
 

Weaving among the sacred processes of healing within yourself and others around you, Support Nest offers a space for meditation, a place where hope can flourish and safety and love are embraced. This social sculpture renders the restoration of our souls and minds through self-love and cleansing, developing an understanding and taking our own bodies and selves into account as an important tool of the process. I invite you to explore the power that lies in accepting who you are, loving yourself along with your imperfections, and validating the amazing human being that you are.
