Free Film Screening - Images Cinema - The Diving Bell and The Butterfly

In honor of Brain Awareness Week, The Williams Neuroscience program invites Williams College faculty, staff and students, as well as the general public to a free screening of “The Diving Bell and the Butterfly.” Julian Schnabel’s exceptional film is a testament to the power of imagination to transcend the confines of illness. A remarkable story of  Jean Dominique-Bauby who suffers from a unique stroke that leaves his body paralyzed except for one eye, which he uses to communicate and transcribe a memoir of his life. A moving tribute to the power of the mind in the face of tremendous physical limitations. A brief discussion featuring Williams Neuroscience faculty will follow the film.
