The Williams College Department of Music presents Erin Nafziger, soprano, along with Doris Stevenson, piano, in a faculty recital on Saturday, Oct. 25 at 8:00 p.m., in Brooks-Rogers Recital Hall on the college campus. The event is free and open to the public.
Ms. Nafziger offers an evening of classical song. Her performance includes O Quand je dors and other selections by Franz Liszt. She also sings Antonin Dvorak’s “Song to the Moon” from the opera Rusalka, and The Hermit Songs by Samuel Barber.
About Erin Nafziger
Erin Nafziger is an artist associate in voice at Williams and co-directs the Williams Opera Workshop. She frequently performs at Williams as a member of the Williams Chamber Players. She is also seen onstage with The New Opera Company of Williamstown, and at the historic Colonial Theater in Pittsfield, MA for the Made in the Berkshires Festival. She was featured in an abbreviated version of The Marriage of Figaro as Countess Almaviva at the Adams Memorial Theater in January of 2013. She received First Prize in the American Academy of Conducting at Aspen Vocal Concerto Competition, Third Place in the Bel Canto Foundation Competition, and she was the recipient of the Francesco and Hilda Riggio Award in the New England Regional Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions. She was the soprano soloist in John Adams’ Grand Pianola Music, Fauré’s Requiem, Vaughn Williams’ Hodie, and Schumann’s Frauenliebe und Leben. She received a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from DePaul University and a Master’s Degree from Northwestern University in Vocal Performance.
