Abstract:  With our ever-increasing reliance on digital devices, we require accuracy in remote communication.  Whether we are talking on the phone, surfing the web, or anything in between, errors in transmission can be incredibly frustrating to deal with. In this talk, I will explore one method for both detecting and correcting errors.  How simple is it to recover the intended data, and what guarantees can we make regarding the corrections?
