Chinese Music Ensemble

The Chinese Music Ensemble performs the sizhu genre of chamber music played on such instruments as the erhu, pipa, ruan, zheng and yangqin. New programming pairs traditional instruments with Western harp (Chuhan Geng ‘23) and presents an arrangement for yangqin, da ruan and pipa of a piece by Joe Hisaishi – The Sun Also Rises (arr. Yanyan Ge ’23). The featured title and theme, Moonlit River in Spring, showcases a classical pipa solo performed by Yaoyue Cao ’23.
