Art Department Lecture Series: Mary Lum

Mary Lum is a visual artist whose intricate collages, paintings, photographs, and murals explore the margins of city life, alternative geographies, and the use of text as image. Her work has been exhibited in numerous institutions, including Mass MoCA, North Adams, MA; The Drawing Center, NY, the deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum; and Oxford University. Recent publications that her work has been part of include, Modern Artifacts (Esopus and MoMA, NY); Best! Letters from Asian Americans In The Arts, (Paper Monument). Lum has received fellowships from the Guggenheim Foundation (2010), The Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study (2004-2005, 2022), and MacDowell (2018), among others.
