Join us for a very special event at the Williams Bookstore on Thursday October 17th at 6pm. Williamstown resident and illustrator, Alison Kolesar, will discuss the fascinating details of the unique collaboration between herself author Anne Novic in the creation of their new book America Is Immigrants. Assembling nearly 200 portraits of immigrants of every single country in the world, ranging from well known figures like Albert Einstein and celebrity chef Marcus Samuelsson to war heroes, fashion designers, Supreme Court justices, athletes, civil rights leaders, and pop stars, America is Immigrants is a gorgeously illustrated collection celebrating the incredible range of what it means to be an American.
Alison Kolesar grew up in Edinburgh, Scotland, and earned a history degree from the University of Oxford and a Master’s in art history from the Courtauld Institute in London before immigrating to the United States at the age of twenty-five. She has illustrated everything from people and plants to maps and machines.
