After Hours: Strange and Sacred Noise
Williams Percussion Ensemble
The Williams Percussion Ensemble presents John Luther Adams’s expansive and elemental Strange and Sacred Noise, a 70 minute celebration of the turbulent sounds of drums, gongs, marimbas, and sirens, performed in the dark in the ’62 Center’s glass walled dance studio. A masterpiece of the percussion repertoire by the 2014 winner of the Pulitzer Prize for Music, Strange and Sacred Noise achieves a profound and mysterious convergence of sonic geography and geometry. This promises to be a truly immersive musical event.
