Simulation-Assisted Machine Learning in Cancer Biology
Abstract: Understanding and treating cancer has proven to be an incredibly complex problem for physicians, biologists, and statisticians alike. Incorporating biological research with statistical methods appears to be a necessary step toward improving treatment decisions for patients. This colloquium will explore a new method that uses mathematical models to assist machine learning algorithms in hopes of taking this step forward in cancer biology research.
