I/O New Music Ensemble, directed by Matthew Gold, Artist in Residence in Percussion and Contemporary Music Performance at Williams College, presents a one-hour program for instruments and voices in conjunction with the Strict Beauty: Sol LeWitt Prints exhibition at WCMA.
The program features music exploring the diverse abstract languages of LeWitt’s conceptual art, with a focus on color, geometric figures and forms, and curves. Student ensemble members will also perform new, site-specific compositions, or brief interventions, that respond to particular works on view in Strict Beauty.
The concert will be live-streamed from WCMA on YouTube beginning at 4 p.m. Friday, March 4.
