Moran Katz, clarinet
MORAN KATZ, clarinetist, has toured extensively through the U.S., Europe, and East Asia as a soloist, recitalist, and chamber musician, presenting recitals in Paris, Geneva, Israel, Kyrgyzstan, New York, San Diego, Chicago, and Cambridge.
She has performed with the Ariel, Carmel, Contemporary, and Benaim String Quartets; the Uri Caine Ensemble, and at the Marlboro Music Festival, and has been a featured soloist with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra under Zubin Mehta.
This season she records contemporary clarinet works for the Albany Records label. She received her B.M. and M.M. degrees as a student of Charles Neidich at the Juilliard School, and now is in the Artist Diploma Program.
Since 1999 she has received a scholarship with distinction from the America-Israel Cultural Foundation. In 2009 she won first prize in the Freiburg (Germany) International Clarinet Competition and second prize in the Beijing International Clarinet Competition.
