Leo Brown hails from Schenectady, New York and has played the violin since he was five years old. On campus, he has performed with the Student Symphony, Berkshire Symphony, and Williams Symphonic Winds. Brown is a student of Joana Genova and has studied with Joanna Kurkowicz, Betty Jean Hagen, Michael Emery, Christopher Neubert, and Barbara Lapidus. He is majoring in American Studies and Russian. He is the recipient of a Fulbright Scholarship to spend a year abroad in Russia.
Noah Fields, a 2011 Berkshire Symphony soloist surprised to find himself graduating, is from Rochester, New York where he was home-schooled and played with the Rochester Philharmonic Youth Orchestra. While he originally played the violin, he thought his only way to get to really play anywhere was to switch to the viola. Apparently it worked. He played in 28 1/2 ensembles at Williams College. He will graduate with a degree in English Literature. He studies with Scott Woolweaver.
