Workshop with Stew of Stew and the Negro Problem

Have you thought about writing a musical? Winning a Tony award? Telling a story that puts all kinds of stuff out there and that people LOVE? Stew of Stew and the Negro Problem will hold a one-hour workshop for students interested in his work and in musical and narrative performance in general.
Stew’s musical, Passing Strange, for which he wrote both lyrics and music,was nominated for seven Tony awards and was the subject of a documentary by Spike Lee. Passing Strange won a 2008 Tony Award for ‘Best Book of a Musical.’

Aspiring composers, actors, storytellers and those eager to work on stage presence and performance will learn about Stew’s writing and performance process and experiment with their own.
