
"Children and War" Panel Discussion

On Wednesday, April 4, at 5 p.m. the CFLLC will host a panel discussion moderated by Assistant Professor of Romance Languages Soledad Fox titled “Children and War.” Guest scholars will include Anthony Geist, Marysa Navarroa, Roberta Apfel, and Bennet Simon. Geist is professor of Spanish and comparative language at the University of Washington, Seattle and author of several books including “They Still Draw Pictures: Children’s Art in Wartime from the Spanish Civil War to Kosovo” (2002). Navarroa is professor of history at Dartmouth College and a Spanish Civil War refugee. Apfel and Simon are psychiatrists and psychoanalysts at Harvard Medical School and study the psychological effects of war and communal violence on children.
