Lecture by Jared Sexton Professor, African American Studies and Film & Media Studies, UC Irvine. Sexton is the author of Amalgamation Schemes: Antiblackness and the Critique of Multiracialism, Black Masculinity and the Cinema of Policing, and Black Men, Black Feminism: Lucifer’s Nocturne.  He will present “Consumed by Slavery” on Thursday, April 25, at 4:30 p.m. in Griffin Hall, Room 3.  This lecture is hosted by the American Studies Program and is part of the Race and Democracy Series, sponsored by the W. Ford Schumann ’50 Program in Democratic Studies. The other co-sponsors are the English Department, the Lecture Committee, and the Africana Studies Department.
