S. Anukriti is an Assistant Professor in the Economics Department at Boston College, a Research Affiliate at the Institute for Labor Economics (IZA), and a Fellow of the Center for Development Economics and Policy at Columbia University. She is a speaker in the CDE Gender and Development Conference, presenting on “Fertility and Sex-Selective Abortion in India.” Her ongoing work explores the consequences of female sterilization—the world’s most prevalent contraceptive method—for women’s well-being and how social networks can be harnessed to reduce the unmet need for contraception in developing countries.
