Design Thinking Session: Move-Out & Give It Up!
Thu, November 1st, 2018
3:00 pm - 4:30 pm
- This event has passed.

Join us for a Design Thinking session to think through how to decrease waste and increase donations at move-out time. Students, staff, and faculty are all welcome. Email Mike at mae3 if you are interested & can join this Thurs 11/1 from 3-4:30.
Many months from now, students will move out of their dorms and donate some of their unwanted items and throw away others. For a number of years, the college has set up “Give It Up!” donation pods to collect these unwanted items yet our May & June trash numbers are still enormous.
Background on Design Thinking
Did you know that we have a “design thinker in residence”? Well Williams does! For those of you who aren’t familiar, Design Thinking is a strategy to approach challenges using creative problem-solving, human-centered thinking, involving empathy, iteration, and incorporation of feedback from those for whom you are designing. The ZC & CLiA have been using this process to troubleshoot some complex problems. Namely how do we divert very usable items from the trash when students move out! More info
