“Developing an Evidenced-Based Lens of Emotional Connection: The Science behind the #CatchPhrase”
Is Love blind? What is an emotional connection? What does an emotional connection feel like?
Decades before emotional connection became a trendy hashtag and the pursuit of “Love is Blind” cast members, Professor Hane studied the emotions of healthy relationships. The feeling of emotional connection is visceral, tied to our autonomic nervous systems and reduces stress via calming stress physiology. Professor Hane will invite us to see through the lens of emotional connection, as she presents her work on the development and validation of the Welch Emotional Connection Screen, an observational method for assessing emotional connection. Professor Amie Hane is a Professor of Psychology at Williams College and an Adjunct Associate Research Scientist in the Martha Welch Legacy Project, Department of Pediatrics, Columbia University Irving Medical Center.
